Highlights from Strategic Plan Data Retreat: Falling Achievement, Fewer Inputs

Data from the district show test scores are trending the wrong way, with dropping proficiency rates across the board and average to poor growth rates.–

Our students are also getting fewer instructional inputs compared to other New Trier feeder schools: larger class sizes, less instructional time on math + ELA, less spending, and more teacher absences.

Concerns about Wilmette Schools, February 2020

Prior to COVID-19, data analysis revealed 3 primary performance concerns in Wilmette Schools.

1. English/Language Arts growth was low & performance was declining.

2. Performance at the Junior High was sharply declining.

3. Wilmette’s performance compares unfavorably to many other North Shore districts.
